Coaches' Jamboree - Save the Date
Hello Freedom Soccer Club Coaches and Coach's Assistants,
Thank you all for your support and interest in coaching this year with the Freedom Soccer Club. It was great talking to those whom I saw at the Jamborees and we appreciate your participation. I look forward to meeting those of you who couldn't make it to the Jamborees, or if you have recently decided to help out this year, or possibly in the future.
To continue getting this season off with a bang, we will be holding a Coaches' Jamboree, Thursday, August 11, 6-7:30 p.m. Please let me, Kathleen Szopa, know if you will be attending.
This event will prove to be a hugely beneficial camaraderie builder, technical training and drill-idea builder, along with age-appropriate dialogue to add to your coaching skills for all age groups. Experienced coaches are encouraged to attend to help inspire newer coaches with their experiences. Assistant Coaches are encouraged to attend to work with your team coaches and to open communication between each other. If you are a new coach or assistant coach, not familiar with the technical aspect of ball handling or just need a refresher, this event will teach a detailed look at why we do what we do for ball control and better ball manipulation. Even if you have an interest to coach in the future, please feel free to join us. Odyssey coaches will be available for any further questions about the league or coaching, as well.
I am looking forward to this coaches' training event and to help prepare you for any questions your players may have for you, and for a greater understanding of the game and coaching perspective.
I expect everyone will have learned a little something before the end of it.
So, come out, ready to move a little (water is highly recommended), and please bring a ball and notepad with you.
